Ramsgate has been home to not one, but two Heritage Action Zones. One has been helping to boost the local economy, using the historic environment as a catalyst.
Working together with a number of partners including Thanet District Council, Ramsgate Town Council, the Ramsgate Coastal Community Team and The Ramsgate Society, we have been helping Ramsgate grow into a prosperous maritime town, where outstanding heritage and architecture is coupled with new investment and development.
The other is Ramsgate’s High Street Heritage Action Zone where we are still seeking to transform some historic buildings, make improvements to the High Street and re-purpose empty buildings for creative and community use.
