Engine Shed, Campbell Drive, Staveley, Derbyshire

A locomotive 'roundhouse' or engine shed dating from the 1870s. It was built for the Staveley Coal and Iron Company and is the only one left where the machinery still works. The building was used as a workshop for repairing locomotives. It was also used as a place where locomotives used at the local coal mines and iron works could come to turn round.
