Teaching idea

This Street Spotter’s Guide and accompanying resources will help learners to discover the heritage they might walk past every day without even realising.

From post and telephone boxes to street signs and ghosts, there are traces of the past in every village, town, or city. This guide helps you spot them, though probably not all in one go or one area!

The accompanying resources help you delve deeper into the history behind them. They are a great way to start a Local Study at KS 2 or 3. Once you’ve explored your area, you can use the ‘Build your own trail’ resources to show others what’s special about where you live.
