Description

In 1976, Laing were awarded the contract for the construction of the Harrogate Conference Centre complex. This involved an exhibition hall, an auditorium capable of seating approximately 2000 people, an office block, a two-storey underground car park and a department store. Work on the complex was completed in 1981/2, and the centre was quickly chosen as the host venue for the 1982 Eurovision Song Contest.
