Description

The plan of the ground-floor is at 1/20 inch to one foot scale, is numbered and has a corresponding key of explanatory information. The small plan of the upper-floor also has a detail of an inscription found in a closet. There are inset four sections A-B, C-D, E-F and G-H through the castle, a location map showing the Isle of Portland at one inch to four 1/4 mile scale, and a paragraph outlining a brief history of the purpose of the castle. This copy is marked 'Office Copy'. Likely to have been created during the Governorship of Captain Charles Manning from 1834 until 1869.
