Packet containing a collection of 6 black and white prints of St. Mary’s Chapel, Chisbury, Little Bedwyn, Wiltshire. The prints depict the interior and exterior of the chapel and were taken between 1942 and 1943, when the original medieval chapel was being used as a barn, as part of the Chisbury Manor farm. The building ceased being used as a chapel in 1547. The chapel is positioned on the edge of the earthwork defences of a much earlier Iron Age hillfort, known as Chisbury Camp. One of the prints, which depicts the repairs to the chapel’s thatch roof, has 3 accompanying spare images.
