Box of 5 albums relating chiefly to Laing work in the late 1940s and 1950s, containing 193 prints in total.
Album 1 shows: - general views of UK and international housing projects under construction and newly-completed, including views of machinery at work, Laing vehicles and a site laboratory; - prints showing quarrying, an unidentified country house, and Bomber Command HQ; - Aerofilms photographs of Paton and Baldwins Worsted Spinning Mill, Lichfield and Bristol Filton Airport; Album 2 shows: - various construction vehicles and site workers; - 3 more Aerofilms views of Filton Airport and an open-cast quarry near Smalley; Album 3 shows: - various industrial sites under construction and completed, including Shoreham Cement Works, Berkeley Power Station and the office of the British Columbia Electric Company; - 7 more Aerofilms views of Paton & Baldwin's, the Smalley quarry and Filton Airport; Album 4 contains: - views of Laing staff events; - prints showing the newly-completed crematorium and St Bede's church in Carlisle; - a presentation ceremony marking the '1000th home' in Skipton; - the opening of Harraby Secondary School; - the laying of the foundation stone for the Provincial Insurance office at Kendal; Album 5 shows: - views of Monk Coniston Hall, Cumbria. Also included are 4 almost-identical string-bound Easiform promotional booklets.
