Box containing 3 albums, with a total of 195 prints, showing views of the hospital and its associated colony under construction from 1932 and following completion in 1938.

‘Shenley Mental Hospital’ or the ‘Middlesex County Mental Hospital’ was officially opened in 1934. It was later known as ‘Shenley Psychiatric Hospital’. When it closed in 1989 it was named Shenley Hospital.
