Two boxes containing 28 packets and comprising 196 prints and 16 negatives, including:
- views of various unidentified Laing construction projects: a factory probably in the Eltham area in 1929/30; a pair of gasholders or silos in 1955; a road overbridge in the late 1950s; 1960s construction sites, possibly in the Bristol area; - views of various Laing construction projects from the 1920s to the 1980s: Rhoose power station (c.1922); Littleton Pumping Station (1924/25); Easiform housing in Wembley (1924/25), Gosport (1920s/30s) and on Merrivale Road and Newman Road in Exeter (1926); an Easiform house made for the Great Western Railway at Hayes (1920s/30s); Tudor Parade, Eltham (1920s/30s); Carr's factory in Carlisle (1929/30); a water tower and chimney stack for 'Middlesex County Mental Hospital', Shenley (1932); the Mayfair Carriage Company factory in Queensbury (1933); a suspension footbridge for RAF Crosby-on-Eden (1941); Longtown Central Ammunition Depot (1940s); East Asiatic House, Vancouver (1964); Southampton Docks (c.1978); pier widening and construction of new gaterooms at Heathrow Airport (1979); and the M1-M10 motorway interchange near Hemel Hempstead (1983/84); - views of construction machinery in the 1950s, including a crashed low-loader; - a view of the apprentice bay at Laing's Elstree plant depot in the mid-1950s; - copy photographs showing various Laing 1940s wartime building projects: offices and hangers at Harwell, Cranfield, Wittering, Crail, Catterick and Wythall; Carlisle police and fire station; the Bomber Command operations room; Carlisle power station; Credenhill and Sellafield military camps; Longtown Central Ammunition Depot; Ronaldsway and Holmsley South airfields; a bomb-damaged hospital in Malta; a quarry near Whitley Bay; a section of Mulberry harbour; and several types of floating sea fort; - views of the water intake caisson for Coryton oil refinery in 1951/52, from its construction at Gravesend and Tilbury Dock to its final delivery to Coryton; - group portraits of staff and event attendees in the 1950s/60s; views of a 1920s rent collector, and a child making a mess with chocolate; - formal and informal portraits of Sir John Laing from 1938 to the 1960s; - views of Prince Michael of Kent and Prince William in 1992, with a vintage Bentley racing car sponsored by Laing; - a damaged print showing the Tomb of I'timād-ud-Daulah in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India, probably in the mid-20th century.
