Description

A collection of 4 black and white negatives, detailing a public information exhibition stand, hosted jointly by the government departments of the Ministry of Works and Ministry of Food in 1946. The exhibition is a mocked up, demonstration kitchen space similar to those that would be found in the postwar “prefab” homes constructed by the Ministry of Works. It is unclear exactly where the exhibition was held, although the original Ministry of Works envelope indicates it was in “Bankes (?) Stores”. This may suggest that the booths were used for information and promotional purposes.

3 of the 4 images have been catalogued and scanned as part of a 2019 project.

The original Ministry of Works storage envelope for these negatives lists the operator as "D".
