Historic Environment Overview

Despite ongoing global and domestic difficulties, creative and promising strides have been made towards ensuring that heritage is resilient and relevant for the future. This report highlights some of the achievements within the heritage sector for 2023-24.

The Historic Environment Overview is part of Heritage Counts, the annual audit of England’s heritage first published in 2002.

This edition of the Historic Environment Overview has been produced for the sector by the Historic Environment Forum, with support from Historic England.
