This is the living room of a house from 1945. The house was one of the prefabricated models built by the Ministry of Works between 1944 and 1948 to relieve the post war housing shortage. Despite its prefabricated nature the house has all the necessary features of the day. The television would not be a major feature of most living rooms for another 8-10 years.
