Bridge House, Ickburgh, Norfolk

These buildings are the remains of a former leper hospital or hermitage. It was apparently founded in the reign of Edward I (1272-1307). This is when a grant of land was made by William Barentun to Henry Scharping for the maintenance of a chaplain in the Chapel of St Mary of New Bridge. It was dedicated to St Mary and St Lawrence. It was closed in 1548 as part of the Dissolution.
