Church of St James, Exeter Street, Teignmouth, Devon

This parish church dates from the mid 13th century. It was consecrated in 1268. The unbuttressed tower was believed to be part of the town's defences. It was rebuilt in 1821 by Andrew Patey of Exeter, designed in a Picturesque Gothic style by WE Rolfe of London. It was restored in 1890 and in 1953 after the World War Two bombing of the east end.
