Grimes Graves, Weeting, Norfolk
This is a reconstruction drawing of Grimes Graves in circa 2000 BC. It is the site of a Neolithic -Early Bronze Age flint mine (circa 3,000-2,000 BC). At least 433 shafts were dug, and the flint nodules quarried using antler picks. The depressions are collapsed mine shafts surrounded by spoil heaps. This site is now in the care of English Herigage (2010).
