Leigh Court Barn, Leigh, Worcestershire
Leigh Court Barn is a medieval barn that was used for storing and threshing grain. The barn is the only surviving building from the manor of Leigh Court which originally belonged to Pershore Abbey. The barn is reputed to be the largest cruck building in England. Its size is evidence of the former wealth of the original Abbey farm. It measures circa 42.9 metres in length, 10.7 metres in width, and 11 metres in height. The cruck blades are made from whole oak trees. Tree-ring dating carried out in 2006 showed that the trees were cut down in Spring 1344. Extensive repair work was undertaken after it came into the care of English Heritage in 1988.
