Minster Lovell Manor Ruins, Minster Lovell, Oxfordshire

This manor at Minster Lovell was built in c1431-42. It was built by William, 7th Lord Lovell, who incorporated parts of an earlier building. In c1747 the house was dismantled by Thomas Coke, Earl of Leicester. The ruins were used as farm buildings until they were restored by the Ministry of Works (now English Heritage) during the 1930s. Originally the manor was probably granted to William Lupellus, the first Lord Lovell, in c1130. This property is now in the care of English Heritage (2010).
