Numbers 3 & 4, Wood Street, Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire

The Post Office at Higham Ferrers, showing a woman leaning out of an upstairs window. The building was originally a 17th century house built from rubble stone. It was later divided into two cottages. On the top floor, between the 1st & 2nd and the 3rd and 4th windows, are 2 panels, each with a stone pilaster. Between the two floors is a wide ornamental band with a plasterwork design of dragons and strap-work in grey on a black background. The doorway on the right hand side has a boot scraper next to it.
