Sclerder Abbey, Sclerder Lane, Lansallos, Cornwall
This monastery was built in the 1840s. It was originally a Fransican Monastery. It was then used by the Poor Clares. It is now used by an enclosed (they do not leave the monastery) order of Carmelites. It was associated with Sir Harry Trelawney, also with his two daughters Letitia Trelawney and Mary Harding. Sir Harry was later a Catholic Bishop in Rome. Letitia Trelawney, Mary Harding and Lewis Harding (responsible for many early photographs of Polperro and also Trelawne) are buried at Sclerder Abbey.
