Sherborne Abbey, Dorset

A view of the south side of the Abbey from the street. Sherbourne abbey was a Benedictine abbey. The original church was created in 1122. Much of the Norman church was destroyed by fire in 1437 after a riot between monks and parishoners. Parts of the monastery were used for school buildings.
