Station House, Station Road, Horsforth, West Yorkshire
This farmhouse with its attached barn and cottage, was built in the early to mid 18th century and enlarged in the 19th century. It was used as the station master's house. In 1881 the station master John Ambrose Gott lived here with his wife and five children - his son Herbert was a railway clerk. The station and footbridge can be seen just behind the house. The station opened in 1849 on the Leeds to Harrogate line. In 1969 all the buildings were demolished as part of the general cutting down of railways in West Yorkshire at that time. In 2002 - 2003 they built new waiting rooms and a new ticket office.
