The Corbridge Lanx (Replica), Corbridge, Northumberland
This is a replica of the Corbridge Lanx. The original was a Roman silver dish, or plate, known also as the Corbridge Lanx. It is richly decorated with scenes of the sacred oracle at Delphi. It was found in 1734, on the bank of a small stream near the Roman town of Corbridge. Although now ruins, the town of Corbridge dates back to 1st century AD. Find out more.
