The Elloe Stone, Spalding Gate, Whaplode, Lincolnshire
This is an Anglo-Saxon inscribed stone. It is said to have originally marked the site where the men of Elloe Wapentake held their Hundred Court, a type of council. It had been removed from its original position by 1889. It was put on a new base on June 22nd 1911, the day of the Coronation of King George V.
