The Moat House, Lichfield Street, Tamworth, Staffordshire

The Moat House was built and occupied by the Comberford family in 1572. This family entertained Charles I here in 1619, while he was Prince of Wales. The Moat House has since been a lunatic asylum and is now a luxury restaurant, sitting on the banks of the River Tame.
