The Ocean Hotel, Saltdene, Brighton and Hove
The Ocean Hotel was designed by RWH Jones and built in 1938 from reinforced concrete covered in plaster. Behind and below the main block are 6 linked dormitory blocks, 3 each on either side of the swimming and paddling pools. It was constructed by the Saltdean Estate Company. The company also built the Lido and much of the actual village. It was formed by speculator Charles Neville in 1924.
