The Old Windmill, Wimbledon Common, Greater London

Built in 1817 as a post mill, it was converted in to a smock mill in 1893. It has been restored twice, once in 1957 and again in 1976. It now houses a museum. Baden-Powell was staying in one of the cottages pictured in 1907 when he started writing "Scouting for Boys". Download the Mills Teacher's Kit to find out more.
