The Ropewalk, Waterside Road, Barton upon Humber, North Lincolnshire
This ropewalk was built in 1767. It was originally part of a rope making factory. It was owned by the Hall's, a wealthy ship-owning family from Hull. The whaling and fishing fleets of Hull and the shipbuilding yards were a rich and diverse market for the Hall’s products, including ropes, sailcloth, twine and tarpaulins.
