Warkworth Castle and town, Warkworth, Northumberland

An aerial view of the town of Warkworth with Warkworth Castle in the foreground. The Castle was originally a motte and bailey castle which was rebuilt in the 13th and 14th centuries. From 1332 it was the stronghold of the influential Percy family (the Earls of Northumberland). This site is now in the care of English Heritage (2010).
