Heritage Labour Market Intelligence
Labour Market Intelligence (LMI) is information about a workforce (age, gender, location, role) that has been analysed and interpreted to make sense of a labour market. Good LMI benefits the individual, the educator, the employer, and society as a whole.
Heritage Labour Market Intelligence Toolkit
The Heritage LMI Toolkit enables the collection, analysis and reporting of labour market information and labour market intelligence across the heritage space. The Toolkit has been developed to enable users to conduct LMI research, primarily in the form of an online survey, in a systematic and consistent manner, allowing for the comparison of results across heritage sectors and subsectors.
Carrying out LMI research and sharing the results supports the development and sustainability of the heritage workforce, informing policy and decision-making that impacts the heritage workforce. This supports employability, economic prosperity, social mobility, and inclusion.
The Toolkit comprises an introduction and guidance on conducting LMI research, as well as a Modular Survey Template to help you set up your own survey.
The Institute of Conservation partnered with the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists and Historic England in 2019 to develop the Toolkit for the sector.
