Extended Pre-Application Advice

Extended pre-application advice reduces the risk of an application for consent being refused by the decision-making body, with all of the wasted expense that would entail

We will be consulted on your planning application (this includes National Strategic Infrastructure Projects and Environmental Impact Assessments) if it requires:

  • Planning Permission affecting designated heritage assets
  • Listed Building Consent
  • Faculty Consent for ecclesiastical buildings

Involving Historic England early in the development of your proposal helps to reduce the possibility of delays as you move through the planning process.

Constructive engagement with Historic England is important… they are super helpful in discussing issues.

We provide everyone with a free cycle of pre-application advice but offer ongoing engagement through our Enhanced Advisory Pre-Application Service. If you choose to pay for this service, you will benefit from receiving verbal and written advice from one of our specialists, including regular involvement in design team meetings and comments on emerging schemes.

The Enhanced Advisory Service Descriptions document below provides a full description of our Extended Pre-Application Advice service.
